Biography

For 30 years, photography has been a common thread, a way of looking at the world and questioning our societies and our identities. During my studies (Master of Modern Letters at the Sorbonne and Master of Photography in Paris 8) and the beginning of my professional life (French teacher abroad), I first practiced it as an author. I then practiced photography on a professional basis by producing reports for the written press. Journalist specializing in ecology and the environment for 10 years, I then developed a dual skill as an editor and photographer.

A little over 15 years ago, I decided to devote myself to photography. I do this through commissions in the fields of architecture and heritage, portraiture, reporting. I did not give up writing because some of these commands integrate photography and editorial. Interviews or testimonies then enrich portraits, places and landscapes, and interact with the images.

At the same time, I am continuing my work as an author through artistic residencies in France and abroad, and participative photographic workshops, notably within the framework of urban policy measures. These workshops allow audiences far from cultural practices to discover photography and participate in a collective project that takes the form of a publication or an exhibition. These projects question the notions of individual and collective identity (person, community, territory). They also question history, memories and the notion of testimony (oral, written, archive).
